Last year, HVC Cigars’ owner Reinier Lorenzo announced he was opening his own factory, Fabrica de Tabacos HVC S.A de Reinier Lorenzo. He soon released a cigar called HVC Selección No.1 to commemorate the first line produced out of the facility. The Selección No. 1 was a San Andres Maduro offering. Next month, Lorenzo will introduce an Ecuadorian Habano counterpart, the HVC Seleccíon No. 1 Natural.

The HVC Seleccíon No. 1 Natural features a Habano ’92 seed grown in Ecuador over Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Estelí and Jalapa. The cigars are offered in the same sizes as the original maduro HVC Selección No. 1. Packaging is in an old school yellow box that Lorenzo says reminds him of his Cuban roots.

HVC Cigars is not attending the Total Plus Expo (TPE) 2023, but will be shipping the HVC Seleccíon No. 1 Natural in March.

At a glance, here is a look at the HVC Selección No 1 Natural:
