First, there was E.P. Carrillo’s Pledge, then there was E.P. Carrillo’s Allegiance. Now the two concepts are coming together into a limited edition cigar themed for U.S. Independence Day called the E.P. Carrillo Pledge of Allegiance. The company made the announcement in a video published on its YouTube page.

The Pledge of Allegiance blend features more American tobaccos as they are used for the wrapper and part of the filler. The wrapper is a U.S. Connecticut Broadleaf over an Ecuadorian binder. The filler consists of two different U.S. tobaccos as well as Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco. The cigar comes in one size – a 6 x 54. It will be presented in ten-count boxes with pricing set at $20.00 per cigar. A total of 1,776 boxes have been produced.

In a press release, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo commented, “Pledge of Allegiance 2023 is not just a cigar. It’s a representation of the American Dream that I had the privilege to live. This special blend has been crafted with a vision – to create a smoke that honors the journey every American, born in the USA or immigrant, has taken or is still on. Embrace the heritage, taste the resilience – this is what Pledge of Allegiance 2023 stands for.”

The cigar is expected to arrive on retail shelves in June.
