Oliva Cigar Company is entering the world of ultra-premium cigar. Today the company announced its most expensive and premium cigar to date, the Oliva Serie V Roaring Twenties Super Limited Edition. This is a cigar that will be priced at $300.00 per cigar. The details of the cigar were first reported by Cigar Aficionado.
The name of the cigar refers to the period in American history following World War I. It refers to a period of economic prosperity in the U.S. where there was a lot free-spending.
The Oliva Serie V Roaring Twenties Super Limited Edition was done in collaboration with Daniel Marshall, who designed what is known as the gilded shroud. This is a gold covering on the lower half of the cigar. In this case, this is not a gold paper or foil wrap, but real Florentine gold and actually can be smoked with the cigar. Marshall has used smokeable gold on several of his own creations.
As for the cigar, it is a 6 x 60 perfecto. It is being produced in Nicaragua at Oliva’s factory and features an Ecuadorian wrapper over all Nicaraguan tobaccos. The cigars come packaged in ten-count boxes. A total of 300 boxes have been produced with 200 allocated for the U.S..
A percentage of sales from this cigar will be donated to the Oliva Helping Hands Foundation, which helps Nicaraguan women working in the cigar industry with childcare. This was established in 2020 to help the children of Nicaragua and their families overcome poverty through education, job opportunities, and childcare.
While it wasn’t officially announced, it is anticipated the Oliva Serie V Roaring Twenties Super Limited Edition will be showcased at the 2023 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show that opens July 7, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
