On the August 30, 2023 edition of Freestyle Live, Drew Estate announced a release for the international market known as the Liga Privada 10 Selección de Mercado.
For recent Liga Privada releases such as the Liga Privada H99 Connecticut Corojo and Liga Privada 10 Aniversario, the market outside the U.S. has had limited access to these products. The Liga Privada 10 Selección de Mercado will only be for the International market, so it won’t be available in the U.S. market.
The Liga Privada 10 Selección de Mercado is an extension to the Liga Privada 10 brand, which includes Liga Privada 10 Aniversario. However, Selección de Mercado is an entirely different blend. It is highlighted by a Connecticut River Valley Criollo wrapper over a Mexican San Andres Negra binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. The cigar is being released in one size – a 6 x 52 Toro.
“Selección de Mercado is Drew’s first truly global brand drop,” said Drew Estate Founder and President, Jonathan Drew in a press release. “Liga Privada is notoriously bold, dense, hearty, earthy and robust … true to the Connecticut River Valley. Seleccion de Mercado is different!!! It’s an experience of Liga Privada that’s truly unexpected, with the international cigar smoker at the forefront of our mind throughout our creative stages of development. The Selección de Mercado blend is like, ‘Yo homie, I didn’t think anybody could get a smoke like this in a cigar that’s not Cuban, but this Liga Privada nails it. That’s wild.”
The cigar will be the featured release for Drew Estate at InterTabac 2023, which opens September 14, 2023, in Dortmund, Germany. However, there will be two events in Istanbul, Turkey, prior to InterTabac hosted by Jonathan Drew, where the product will be launched. Following InterTabac, Pedro Gomez will host events in Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria.
Update 8/31/23: We were told the blend information was incorrect on Freestyle Live show. It is in fact Connecticut Criollo. Added additional information and photos from a press release were added.
