Fuente y Padrón Legends, the collaboration between Carlos “Carlito” Fuente and Jorge Padrón which pays homage to their fathers, is now shipping.
According to Carlito Fuente, two containers each containing 375 boxes have begun shipping.
“Shipped on Thanksgiving day as promised. A very significant date to pay gratitude and tribute to two legendary men in our industry,” said Carlito Fuente in a statement to Cigar Coop confirming the shipping.
At this time specifics on who will receive cigars and what pricing will be set at are still not being disclosed. Carlito Fuente did confirm to Cigar Coop that more shipments of Fuente y Padrón Legends will follow, but did not elaborate on a timeframe for those.
Fuente y Padrón Legends was first announced back in 2020. The cigar was unveiled at the 2022 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show. For this project, each principal blended a cigar to honor the other principal’s father. In other words, Jorge Padrón created a cigar to honor Carlos Fuente Sr. and Carlito Fuente created a cigar to honor Jose Orlando Padrón. The cigars come in a collectible 40-count box/humidor featuring two 20-count trays of each blend. Not much is disclosed about the cigars other than each of the two blends will be a 7 x 50 vitola. Both companies are now handling the distribution of the cigar.
Earlier this year, a prototype of the cigar was made available to attendees of Cigar Aficionado’s Big Smoke.
This is a developing story. When further information is available, this story will be updated.

We will see, but I have a hard time believing that these cigars will perform better than other $50 options, like the Padron 50th or even a Merrapfel.
I’m not going to chase.

Looks like Coop is going to cash in on his bet with Abe at Smoke Inn if this happens!
