Somm Cigars has announced the launch of the Somm Rioja line. Somm Rioja (pronounced ree-ow-huh) is scheduled to be released at Total Products Expo (TPE) 2024, but the cigar has been given an early launch at Luxury Cigar Club. The cigar is being produced at Eladio Diaz‘s Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera factory in the Dominican Republic.
“I’ve had the pleasure and incredible fortune of working with Ben and Chris, from Luxury Cigar Club, since they’re first box. They have been great supporters of every project I have been involved with. Aside from that, they’ve been phenomenal friends along the way. I am incredibly grateful that they’ve chosen to launch the new Rioja blend ahead of its scheduled release next January,” said Vlada Stojanov, founder of Somm Cigars, in a press release.
Somm Rioja is highlighted by three-year-aged Dominican Corojo wrappers, three-year-aged Sumatra binders, and four fillers from the Dominican Republic that have been aged four years. The cigars are available in two sizes: Toro (6 x 52, MSRP $14.00/cigar) and Robusto (5 x 52, MSRP $13.50/cigar). Each size is presented in ten-count boxes.
“With this blend, I wanted to pay homage to one of the last, great bastions of value – the famed Spanish region of Rioja and its Gran Reserva wines. Nowhere else do you find such an exceptional combination of tradition, prowess and skill at such an amazing quality to price ratio. With that in mind, who better to team up for this release than the famed Tabacelera Diaz Cabrera,” added Stojanov.
