CRA (Cigar Rights of America) has named Mike Copperman its new Executive Director. Copperman has been with CRA since 2011, where he served as the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Director. Copperman will fill the Executive Director position, which has been vacant since November 2020 when Glynn Loope stepped down from the position.
As the CRA Executive Director, Copperman will oversee the organization’s strategic direction, enhance member engagement, and spearhead advocacy efforts on behalf of the members of CRA. He will also keep his position as Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Director.
Before joining CRA, Copperman had 17 years experience as both a professional tobacconist and cigar enthusiast. He was the owner of Bethesda Tobacco for over a decade.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mike as the new Executive Director of CRA. His wealth of experience and dedication to our cause make him the ideal leader to advance our mission and navigate the evolving landscape of premium cigar advocacy,” said Robert Levin, President of CRA.
In expressing his enthusiasm for his new role, Mike stated, “I am honored to begin this next chapter at CRA at such a pivotal time for the premium cigar industry. I look forward to continuing to protect the rights and traditions that make our community unique.”
