The E.P. Carrillo Sumatra will kick off the Essence Series at the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show. The Essence Series consists of six cigar blends planned over the next two to three years.
As the name indicates, E.P. Carrillo Sumatra will feature an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. This is a signature wrapper tobacco used by company owner and master blender Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. The remainder of the blend features a double binder with tobacco from Nicaragua and Honduras. The fillers use a combination of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco. Presented in 24-count boxes, the E.P. Carrillo Sumatra comes in three rounded sizes: Robusto Toro, and Gordo.
In the second half of 2024, E.P. Carrillo will introduce the Honduras and Maduro installments of the Essence Series. In subsequent years, Connecticut, Nicaragua, and Cameroon blends will follow.
“We intend to incorporate a series of educational materials to teach our smokers about each wrapper in this series we are calling our Essence Series, where the focus is all about the wrapper,” said Lissette Perez-Carrillo in a press release.
The 2024 PCA Trade Show opens on March 23, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The E.P. Carrillo Sumatra will ship in May.
