La Aurora has announced the La Aurora Preferidos Hors D’Age 2022 Limited Edition. The Hors D’Age 2022 will be launched at the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show.
Hors D’Age stands for “beyond time.” The La Aurora Hors D’Age release is distinguished by the extra aging process used to develop this blend. La Aurora says the product goes through a 12-year cycle from when the tobacco seeds are sown to when they reach consumers. The line debuted in 2018, and there have been 2019, 2020, and 2021 vintage editions. The 2022 vintage is the fifth release of the line. The vintage year refers to the point where the cigar were put in the aging room. These cigars then rest in the aging room for two years.
The 2022 Vintage release comes in one size – a 5/34 x 54 Toro. The blend utilizes Ecuadorian wrapper and binder over Dominican, Colombian, and Nicaraguan fillers. A total of 650 15-count boxes will be released. This year’s release is priced at $30.00 per cigar.
“From seed to cigar, the journey for this release began 12 years ago. As a result, we named it Hors d’Age, which is taken from the French cognac designation, literally translating to ‘beyond age.’ And just as Hors d’Age cognac is arguably some of the highest quality cognac in the world due to its age, we set out to create an annual release that was also of the highest quality thanks to expert aging and blending,” commented Master Blender Manuel Inoa in a press release.
The 2024 PCA Trade Show opens on March 23, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
