One of the nicest looking booths at the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show was the Villiger Cigars booth. In particular, the deep blue color that adorned the booth really looked nice, but there is no Blue is a color we have seen on the packaging of two recent Villiger releases: Villiger de Nicaragua and Villiger 1888 Nicaragua. Both of these releases come from the Villiger de Nicaragua factory located in Estelí, Nicaragua. Like last year, the focus was once again around Villiger 1888 Nicaragua. The Villiger 1888 Nicaragua is the first regular production cigar to come out of that factory and Villiger wanted to showcase that fact. In a way, the blue booth was a great way to do this This year Villiger opted to use the Trade Show to introduce two new sizes to the 1888 Nicaragua lineup.
The two new sizes are a Churchill (7 x 47, SRP $9.60) and Gordo (6 x 60, SRP $10.00). This brings the total number of vitolas in the Villiger 188 Nicaragua line to five. Each is presented in 20-count boxes. The new sizes have begun shipping to retailers. Blendwise, the Villiger 1888 Nicaragua features an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and a combination of Nicaraguan and U.S. (Pennsylvania) fillers.
