Micallef Cigars has announced the third installment to its Color Series, Micallef Red. The Red follows the Micallef Black and Micallef Blue and keeps to the line’s price point, offering a premium, long-filler cigar in the $7.00 to $8.00 per cigar price range.
Produced at Micallef’s Fabrica de Estelí facility in Estelí, Nicaragua, the Red features a San Andres wrapper over a Pennsylvania Broadleaf grown-in-Nicaragua binder and a combination of Nicaraguan and Mexican fillers. According to Micallef, the San Andrés Habano wrapper brings out nuanced flavors of gentle spice and deep earthy undertones. The company says the Nicaraguan binder adds an earthy sweetness. Micallef has said the result with the Red will deliver smooth, well-rounded smoke.
The Red comes in 25-count boxes in Robusto (5 x 52, SRP $7.00) and Toro (6 x 52, SRP $8.00).
The new blend will be available in a limited release during Micallef Socials and other launch events throughout September and October. Micallef Socials are a series of events done in partnership with retail partners. They celebrate Micallef’s Ambassador community and will also provide an opportunity to experience Micallef Red before its nationwide release in mid-October.
In a press release, Al Micallef, Founder of Micallef Cigars, commented: “We’ve crafted the Micallef Red to be a memorable smoke, just like the experiences we share at our Micallef Socials. It’s about more than cigars; it’s about enjoying great moments together.”
Dan Thompson, President of Micallef Cigars, added: “We oversee every step to provide great cigars at great prices, keeping consumers loyal to family-owned retailers.”
