The Conviction by Rocky Patel comes in at #5 on the 2024 Cigar of the Year Countdown.

With its well-publicized $100.00 price point, Conviction is Rocky Patel Premium Cigars’ most ultra-premium offering. The name Conviction was inspired by Rocky’s commitment and passion for the cigar industry. Several elements went into making the Conviction as an ultra-premium offering. These include: i

  • Incorporating high-quality-tobaccos
  • Incorporating aged tobaccos, with the wrapper undergoing tercio-aging
  • Using highly skilled pairs, each rolling 500 cigars maximum per day
  • Integrating exquisite packaging

As mentioned, the blend is highlighted by a San Andres wrapper aged in tercios. Tercio-aging involves aging tobacco in handmade bales made of royal palm bark. The process is not commonly used today because of the costs involved. Rocky Patel’s TAVICUSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, produces the Conviction. In addition to the San Andres wrapper, the remainder of the blend consists of Nicaraguan tobaccos from Rocky Patel’s farms. Those filler tobaccos include some of Rocky Patel’s oldest tobaccos from a 2014 crop. Conviction comes in one size – a 6 ½ x 52 Toro Extra packaged in a square tube.

Conviction is a quintessential Rocky Patel cigar flavor profile taken to the next level. The cigar delivers notes of mocha earth, cedar, baker’s spice, and pepper. The flavors are medium-bodied in the first half and progress to medium to full-bodied in the second half. This is countered by medium strength.

At $100.00, this cigar takes the title of the most expensive to land on a Cigar Coop Countdown. Our countdown rankings are not influenced by price. For Rocky Patel Premium Cigars, this marks the eighth occasion that they’ve secured a spot in the Cigar Coop Countdown.
