Gurkha Cigar Company’s Year of Snake collection, which pays homage to the Chinese Zodiac’s Year of the Snake, is set to ship. Like last year with Year of the Dragon, Gurkha is teaming up with multiple manufacturing partners to produce the cigars. Three of the manufacturing partners from last year are producing Year of Snake. This includes Oliva, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, and Oscar Valladares.
The Oscar Valladares Year of Snake is a 6 x 52 Habano blend and comes in red humidor. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s Year of Snake is a 6 1/2 x 52 Toro that uses an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper and is in a blue humidor. Finally, Oliva’s Year of Snake comes in a 6 5/8 x 52. The Oliva blend features a Mexican San Andres wrapper and comes in a black humidor.
There are 750 boxes of each of the Year of Snake blends. All three blends come in at a $19.99 price point.
In addition, Gurkha is releasing 500 collector’s edition green domed humidors priced at $1,200.00. This is expected to be showcased at the 2025 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show. The show opens April 12 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The humidors all feature a design of a snake curled into a figure 8. “We loved the design that was presented to us incorporating the lucky number 8,” said Juan Lopez, VP of Sales at Gurkha Cigar Group in a press release. “Additionally, we were so happy with the collaborations from last year’s Year of Dragon, that we couldn’t wait to start another project with E.P. Carrillo, Oscar Valladares, and Oliva Cigar Co.“We’re really excited about the Gurkha Year of Snake brands and we’re looking forward to everyone trying it,” added Lopez.
