Another new exhibitor at PCA 2025 was Lure Cigars. Lure Cigars was created by Lou Cross III to honor the memory of his late father, Lou Cross Jr. Cross Jr was a lifelong outdoorsman, avid fisherman, and cigar enthusiast. Shortly after celebrating his 90th birthday, Lou Jr. passed away in June of 2023, surrounded by family and friends. One of the last and fondest memories shared with him was enjoying a cigar and telling stories. The idea of Lure Cigars is to bring cigar enthusiasts together through ‘Tackle & Tobacco” and encourages cigar enthusiasts to “Smoke Great Cigars & Tell Tall Tales.TM”
Lure Cigars shared a booth with Valacari Cigars, which handles the company’s distribution. Production is handled by Tabacalera Pages de Nicaragua S.A., which also oversees Valcari’s output. One of the most unique features was a giant fishing rod on display at the booth.
Lure Cigars had a soft launch back in September of 2023 and a national launch in 2024. Since then, it has quietly built a nice portfolio of regular production and limited-edition cigars. For 2025, Lure Cigars introduced a new cigar line and a line extension to one of its existing lines.
Additionally, the company announced the Lure Oscuro. This is the third core line in Lure Cigars’ portfolio, joining the Corojo Oscuro and Habano lines. The Lure Oscuro features a dark, Nicaraguan-grown Oscuro wrapper, described as a double Maduro, over a binder from Estelí.

The Corojo Oscuro line introduces a new size called The Fat Tony. The Fat Tony measures 5 x 54 and is classified as a Robusto Grande cigar, which is part of the regular production.
