CAO Cigars will introduce an extension of its CAO Flathead line. CAO’s Rick Rodriguez was a guest on the 7/14/15 edition of Cigar Chat and announced information on the CAO Flathead Steelhorse. The cigar will make its debut at the 2015 IPCPR Trade Show.
According to Rodriguez, while the original Flathead line catered to the automotive enthusiast, the Flathead Steelhorse caters to the motorcycle enthusiast. While the cigars feature the line’s signature flat cap, the Flathead Steelhorse will be a rounded (parejo) cigar. There will be two sizes: Ape Hanger (5 1/2 x 58) and Bullneck (6 1/2 x 66).
Rodriguez says the blend of the Steelhorse is different than the Flathead. While it will use the same Connecticut wrapper, the rest of the blend will be different. Rodriguez says he incorporate a lower priming of the Connecticut wrapper to bring the cigar down to a true medium.
In terms of packaging Rodriguez said it will follow the lead by the CAO Flathead Sparkplug, and have each cigar packaged in a spark-plug-like box. There will be 18 cigars packed per cigar box.
CAO is expected to also announce the CAO Pilon and showcase the new CAO SolFyre at the 2015 IPCPR Trade Show.
