For the second year in a row, La Flor Dominicana is bringing back a pre-predicate date product. Last year, the Coronado by La Flor made a comeback. This year it’s the Reserva Especial’s return. A new revamped La Flor Dominicana Reserva Especial was showcased at the 2016 IPCPR Trade Show – complete with new packaging and new sizes.
The Reserva Especial now features white, gold and red packaging. The packaging is highlighted by company owner Litto Gomez’s Silhouette on the packaging – something that will become a more common theme with La Flor Dominicana packaging. The packaging was also designed to comply with regulations both internationally and domestically.
The Reserva Especial features the same blend that was introduced back in the 1990s – highlighted an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper over Dominican binder and filler. All of the sizes return of the Reserva Especial as well as three additional sizes: Toro (6 x 54), Gran Robusto (5 1/2 x 60), and Super Corona (7 x 60). The cigars are packaged in 24 count boxes.
The company also will also offer the El Jocko cigar – a 4 1/2 x 52 Perfecto in the Reserva Especial line. El Jocko will be offered with both a Natural (Connecticut) and Maduro version.
