Before there was Boutique Blends, there was Oliveros. And it was Oliveros that launched the successful Aging Room and Swag brands. While Oliveros never completely disappeared, the brand name did subside to the background. Now this year, Boutique Blends has brought the Oliveros name back front and center. At this past week’s IPCPR Trade Show, the company showcased the new three blend Oliveros Gran Retorno line.

While Gran Retorno was showcased at this year’s IPCPR Trade Show, it is an offering that started appearing on retail shelves over the past month.

Oliveros Gran Retorno joins the Oliveros All Stars as two new offerings by Boutique Blends featuring the Oliveros name. Gran Retorno is offered in three wrapper options – Connecticut Shade grown in Honduras, Ecuadorian Habano, and Maduro. The Habano and Maduro are Nicaraguan puros. In addition to putting the Oliveros line back into the spotlight, it also brings Rafael Nodal and Boutique Blends back to Nicaragua – where the Gran Retorno is produced at Felix Mesa’s El Galan factory.

Each of the three blends are offered in the same four sizes. Par for the course with many of other Boutique Blends’ offerings, the vitola names have a musical theme: Banjo (4 1/2 x 52), Swing (6 x 50), Fiddle (6 x 54), and Ragtime (5 x 56).

The last time there was a major Oliveros-branded release was 2011’s Oliveros Sun Grown Reserve.  Since then the Oliveros name has primarily been used on the company’s flavored offerings.
