At the 2017 IPCPR Trade Show, Altadis U.S.A. unveiled its third installment in its limited edition Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch Series, the Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch III.

The Grupo de Maestros team represents some of Altadis’ most skilled cigar makers and they have been involved on some high profile Altadis releases. According to Atladis  USA the group has more than 300 years combined experience. Atladis USA describes the Grupo de Maestros as:

Alone, the cigar experience of each member is impressive. Combined, their experience is unparalleled. The group draws from their different individual backgrounds and preferences but is united by one goal: to create the world’s best premium cigars. While each member has the talent to blend their own cigars, this unique structure makes the whole greater than the sum of the parts.

The cigars in the Private Batch series represent blends that the Grupo de Maestros created for the members’ own private consumption. There have been two previous installments – Grupo de Maestros Private Batch (released late 2014/early 2015) and Grupo de Maestros Private Batch II (released 2016).

The Grupo de Maestros Private Batch III features a different blend than the previous two installments. Private Batch III incorporates Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Peruvian fillers with a Santo Domingo binder from the Dominican Republic and an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper.

Like its predecessors, Grupo de Maestros Private Batch III is available in one size – this time a 6 1/8 x 52 Belicoso (the first Private Batch to not feature a Toro).  Pricing is set at $16.00 SRP per cigar.

The packaging for the Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch III also features a similar collectable cedar trunk to what was used for the previous two installments. The trunk will contain 100 cigars and a total of 3,000 cigars have been been produced. Altadis indicated that the trunks were completely sold out. Pricing is set at $16.00 SRP per cigar.

“After the reception we received for the prior Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch releases, we take pride in offering aficionados a unique third release,” commented Pedro Ventura, master blender of the Grupo de Maestros team in a press release.

The Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch III is expected to be available in full distribution in September 2017.
