In 2015, La Aurora Cigars released its La Aurora Puro Vintage 2006 Edicion Limitada 111 Aniversario. It was the fourth installment of the company’s limited edition Puro Vintage Series. The La Aurora Puro Vintage 2006 was released in a salomon format. There were two additional sizes of the La Aurora Puro Vintage 2006 series produced in the form of a Toro and the company’s signature Preferido No. 1 size. However, those were only available as a part of a larger package known as the Master Case. At the 2017 IPCPR Trade Show, La Aurora made the decision to make all three sizes in 18-count packages – essentially splitting up the Master Cases.

The Puro Vintage series is a limited production line where each installment of the series is made up of tobaccos harvested from a particular harvest year. There have been three previous releases (Puro Vintage 2003, Puro Vintage 2004, and Puro Vintage 2005) With the Puro Vintage 2006, all of the tobaccos come from a 2006 crop. Typically, each release has been in a salomon vitola.

The Puro Vintage 2006 also was meant to commemorate the 111th anniversary of La Aurora Cigars – the oldest cigar factory in the Dominican Republic. Concurrently, the Master Case collection was created. It was originally unveiled at the 2015 ProCigar and later showcased at the 2015 IPCPR Trade Show. Each Master Case unit included boxes that were replicas of packaging from 1906. The Master Case included the Puro Vintage 2006 in a salomon format as well as the unreleased Preferido No. 1 and Toro sizes. This was sold as a unit that was individually numbered. A total of 500 units were produced.

 

Each of the three sizes of the La Aurora Puro Vintage 2006 Edicion Limitada 111 Aniversario will be available in 18-count units. The cigars will be available until they are sold out.
