Earlier this year, Tabacalera SLU, the Spanish Cigar company best known for the VegaFina brand, announced a new brand known as Capitol. Capitol is a premium cigar line featuring all Nicaraguan tobaccos with the theme of the Golden Age of the 1920s.
Capitol is a line produced at the Plasencia Cigars factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Rafael Nodal, who serves as the Director of Product Capability at Tabacalera SLU’s U.S. counterpart Tabacalera USA plays a role in the development of the project.
The three Nicaraguan puros that make up Capitol include Jack (52 x 120mm), Casino (54 x 135mm), and Gala (56 x 155mm). All three cigars feature a pig-tail finish on the cap. The cigars are presented in 10-count boxes.
The cigars feature a band embellished with fine gold details and engravings meant to represent the period of the Roaring 1920s. Pricing is set between € 8.00 to € 12.00 (Euros) per cigar. Capitol has currently only been launched in Spain at this time.
