“…the Perdomo ESV Limited Edition Box-Pressed Maduro shines – especially in the Robusto-sized Regente format. It’s as good a maduro as I had in 2020.”

Review: Perdomo Estate Selección Vintage Limited Edition Box-Pressed Maduro Regente (3/30/20)
Appearances on Countdown (By Year/Brand): 1 (2020)
Coming in at #3 is the Perdomo Estate Selección Vintage Limited Edition Box-Pressed Maduro Regente. In 2019 Perdomo Cigars’ Estate Selección Vintage (ESV) would make a comeback. This time the ESV would return in the form of a box-pressed offering. What would even be more special would be the tobaccos used. The revamped ESV line utilizes the top 5% of the tobaccos grown on the Perdomo family’s Finca Natalie farm in Estéli, Nicaragua. Like most Perdomo Cigars, Perdomo Estate Selección Vintage Limited Edition Box-Pressed has Connecticut, Maduro, and Sungrown options. It’s the Perdomo Estate Selección Vintage Limited Edition Box-Pressed Maduro that scores big on the Countdown in the Regente (5 x 54 Robusto) size.
The Perdomo Estate Selección Vintage Limited Edition Box-Pressed Maduro features 100% Nicaraguan tobaccos including the tobaccos coming from Finca Natalie. The cigar is highlighted by a beautiful Maduro wrapper. Production is also handled in Estelí, Nicaragua out of Tabacalera Perdomo. The production is also limited to Perdomo’s top-tier retail accounts.
The Perdomo Estate Selección Vintage Limited Edition Box-Pressed Maduro Regente is an absolute flavor-bomb. It delivers rich flavors of mocha (a fusion of coffee and chocolate), natural maduro sweetness (a fusion of natural tobacco and dried fruit), mixed pepper, char, leather, and cream. These flavors start out medium to full-bodied and reach the full range by the end of the smoke. This is accompanied by medium to full level strength.
This is the second cigar from Perdomo Cigars to land on the 2020 Countdown. It joins the Perdomo ESV Limited Edition Box-Pressed Sun Grown Regente which landed at #11.
This is a very special cigar, and one that has consistently performed throughout the year on Cigar Coop. It easily earns its podium spot for 2020.
