Fuente y Padrón Legends, the high-profile collaboration which was first announced back in 2020, was once again showcased at this year’s 2023 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show.
Last year, the Fuente y Padrón Legends made their debut at the 2022 PCA Trade Show. The products were showcased in an area located between the Arturo Fuente and Padrón Cigars booths. This year, the Fuente y Padrón Legends were showcased at the individual Arturo Fuente and Padrón booths. The booths of these two companies were not adjacent this year and were located in different areas of the Trade Show floor.
Fuente y Padrón Legends is a project where the principals of the project, Jorge Padrón and Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. created cigars to honor their fathers (the late José Orlando Padrón and Carlos Fuente Sr.) The twist is that each principal blended a cigar to honor the other principal’s father. In other words, Jorge Padrón created a cigar to honor Carlos Fuente Sr. and Carlito Fuente created a cigar to honor Jose Orlando Padrón.
We do know the cigars come in a collectible 40-count box/humidor featuring two 20-count trays of each blend. Not much is disclosed about the cigars other than each of the two blends will be a 7 x 50 vitola. Last year, the cigar by Carlito Fuente for José O. Padrón featured a cedar sleeve. The cedar sleeve was not seen this year.
Pricing and release date are still unknown, but earlier this year, it was announced that Padrón would handle distribution. A pre-release of the cigar was made available to attendees of Cigar Aficionado’s Big Smoke event.
