E.P. Carrillo Encore Noir

E.P. Carrillo has announced an extension to its Encore brand, the Encore Noir. Encore Noir is a line being released primarily for the non-U.S. market. Still, an allocation of this cigar will be made available for events in the U.S. This will be an annual limited edition release.

The idea of the Encore Noir was to deliver a cigar in a round format but with a darker wrapper. It comes in one size known as Majestic No. 2, a 5 3/8 x 52 vitola. Encore Noir features a dark Ecuadorian wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. The cigar is produced at Casa Carrillo in the Dominican Republic.

The cigars are presented in ten-count boxes; 2,500 boxes are shipped outside the U.S., and an additional 500 boxes are for U.S. events.

Encore Noir is the second E.P. Carrillo Encore extension. Earlier this year, the Encore Black was released as a box-pressed limited offering for the U.S. market. Now, Encore Noir brings a rounded limited offering focused on the international market. These projects featured the contributions of Jorge Fernandez Maique, General Manager of Casa Carrillo. Maique commented, “We enjoyed working with aged tobacco wrappers and different cigar shapes on these projects. Here we go on a journey, where every moment whispers an intriguing tale. With Encore Noir, by using higher priming of the wrapper, we achieved a darker wrapper that creates a significant change from the original Encore blend.”
