This author will be the guest host on Let’s Get Pairing Episode 40. The thumbnail graphic is the work of Tripp Waldrop.While I come to this show from Brooklyn and Staten Island, I dig back to New York roots via the Bronx.

I’ll be joining Tripp doing live pairings with Chazz Palminteri’s A Bronx Tale cigar and Abbina Craft Sipping sodas. Palminteri has teamed with Epic Cigars and Paul DiSilvio of La Casa Grande Tobacco company to launch A Bronx Tale. It is named for the play that was written by and starred Palminteri. This play would go on to become a motion picture and really put Palminteri on the map. In the movie, there is a character named Calogero, which happened to be the name of Palminteri’s grandfather.

Abbina (Italian for “to match” or “to combine”) Craft Sipping Soda was created by Charlie Albanetti. Albanetti’s goal was to create a better non-alcoholic beverage pairing for cigars than other commercially available sodas. The company says that Abbina’s unique flavors, such as earthy notes like beet and leathery notes from the use of saffron and patchouli, are designed to both create new flavors by combining with typical flavors found in cigars and to draw out otherwise undetectable flavors in cigars.
