Smoke Inn Hanukkah Box Day 4

Today, we continue the reveal of the 2024 Smoke Inn Hanukkah Box with the cigar for day 4 of the Festival of Lights. Warning: spoiler alert.

Like Smoke Inn’s Advent Calendar, a different cigar will be revealed each day for the eight days of Hanukkah. Much like lighting a candle on the menorah for each night of Hanukkah, each “candle” box inside the large Hanukkah box will contain a cigar. The ninth candle of the menorah, known as the Shamash, is used to light the other candles on the menorah. Following that pattern, Smoke Inn’s Hanukkah box contains nine candle boxes – eight representing the eight nights of Hanukkah and one for the Shamash.

Notably, there is one big difference between the Smoke Inn Hanukkah Box and the Smoke Inn Advent Calendar. The Advent Calendar focuses on more commercially available cigars, while the Hanukkah Box focuses on rare cigars with limited production.

Today’s reveal is the The American Torpedo by J.C. Newman Cigar Company. The story of The American cigar is well-known. The American is a resurrection of an old brand in the J.C. Newman portfolio that Drew Newman and Ariel Peters spearheaded. In the reincarnation, homage would be paid to U.S. cigar-making. It would feature exclusively American-grown tobacco, and every aspect of the cigar, including the boxes, hinges, labels, and molds, would be made in the USA. The American is rolled and packaged at J.C. Newman’s El Reloj factory in Ybor City, Tampa, Florida. This cigar line went on to garner critical acclaim inclusing the Toro size capturing Cigar Coop #1 Cigar of the Year in 2020.
