PCA 2025 Black Star Line Cigars

One of the more interesting stories behind a cigar release at the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show came from Black Star Line Cigars. The cigar is called Meadowood, MLK, and it’s a cigar that pays homage to Martin Luther King. Meadowood was a tobacco farm located in Simsbury, Connecticut, owned by the Cullman Brothers. Before attending college, King worked at this farm, where he found inspiration to become a pastor by delivering small sermons to his fellow employees. This is a story that many people are unfamiliar with, but Black Star Line Cigars’ Meadowood keeps this history alive.

To make Meadowood MLK Black Star Line Cigars, owner Aric Bey teamed up with Hostos Quesada of Tabacalera La Isla in the Dominican Republic. The blend is a five-country blend highlighted by a Dominican Corojo ’99 wrapper and a Dominican binder. The fillers come from Peru, Brazil, the USA, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. The cigar comes in one size – a 5 x 50 Robusto. Pricing comes in at $11.99. A total of 250 20-count boxes were produced.
