New Hampshire retailer Federal Cigar will be receiving another limited production line extension to its popular foiled wrapped Medalla series from E.P. Carrillo. The E.P. Carrillo Noche D’Oro will add a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapped version of its Medalla blend. The cigar is expected to arrive in the late November / early December timeframe.
The Noche D’Oro joins 2012’s Medalla D’Oro and the recently released Medalla D’Platino as blends in the Medalla series made by E.P. Carrillo exclusively for Federal Cigar. According to Derek Sells of E.P. Carrillo, the Noche D’Oro will share the same binder and filler as the Medalla D’Oro and Medalla D’Platino. The Noche D’Oro will also used a gold foil sleeve like the Medalla D’Oro. All three cigars are in a 6 1/2 x 44 lonsdale format.
The E.P. Carrillo Medalla D’Oro was originally released to commemorate Federal Cigar’s 92nd Anniversary. It is a variation of the E.P. Carrillo NWC Short Run 2012 blend, but in a lonsdale format and additional ligero. The Medalla D’Platino uses a Habano Corojo ’99 on that same blend. The Medalla D’Oro finished as the Cigar Coop #4 cigar for 2012.
