Drew Estate is slated to become the next manufacturer to collaborate with Smoke Inn on their small batch shop exclusive Microblend Series. The cigar is titled “The Pope of Greenwich Village” and will be the tenth installment of the Smoke Inn series. The cigar will have an initial soft-launch at a VIP dinner on the eve of Smoke Inn’s annual “The Great Smoke” event.
Details around the blend, size, packaging, and official launch date have yet to be announced. Smoke Inn has used the eve of The Great Smoke to do soft-launches of MicroBlends over the past few years. This had been done in 2013 with Room 101’s Big Delicious and in 2014 with the Espinosa 601 La Bomba Bunker Buster.
The VIP Dinner will be held on February 20th. Drew Estate co-founders Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel will be in attendance. All attendees will receive a five pack of “The Pope of Greenwich Village”
Details of the story around the name have yet to be disclosed, but the cigar name does match the popular 1984 motion picture that takes place in New York City. Both Drew and Samel are originally from New York City.
