At the 2015 IPCPR Trade Show, Jose Seijas’ Matilde Cigars officially launched its second line, the Matilde Oscura. This cigar is meant to introduce a fuller smoke into the company’s portfolio joining the Matilde Renacer that was launched 19 months ago.

The Oscura derives its name from the dark Mexican San Andres wrapper that covers this cigar.

Matilde Cigars is the company launched by the legendary Jose Seijas. Seijas is best known for his tenure as Vice President and General Manager of Tabacalera de Garcia – maker of Altadis products . In that role Seijas oversaw the production of a factory capable of making 60 million cigars annually. He would retire in 2012, but late in 2013 he would return with is own company – Matilde Cigars. With Matilde, while Seijas has his own boutique factory, Tabacalera La Matilde.

This year Matilde Cigars it was announced that Quesada Cigars would be handling the distribution for Matilde. As a result, Matilde Cigars was a part of the Quesada booth.

The Matilde Oscura is expected to ship this Fall.
