Last month, the first of the 2021 Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) 2021 Exclusive Series releases hit the market. This cigar is a new size of the Kristoff 685 Woodlawn in the form of a box-pressed Toro.
The Kristoff 685 Woodlawn made its debut in 2013 in the form of a 6 1/2 x 60 perfecto. While it was never a TAA Exclusive, the cigar was offered earlier to TAA retailers before it was made more widely available. The blend consists of a Brazilian Cubra wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and a combination of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. The new box-press TAA offering measures 6 1/4 x 54.
The name 685 Woodlawn refers to the street address in the Chicago, Illinois area where Kristoff owner Glen Case grew up.
Kristoff’s 685 Woodlawn Box Pressed Toro is the third exclusive TAA offering that has been made, following the Kristoff TAA Exclusive 49 and the Kristoff San Andrés Box-Pressed Toro TAA 2020. It’s also the second year in a row Kristoff has produced a box-pressed offering – something the company is not known for.
