Just before the 2022 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Protocol Cigars announced on Prime Time Episode 234 a new addition to their core lineup known as the Protocol Crime Scene Unit. While the company didn’t have the final packaging ready for the Trade Show, the company was talking about this release at the Trade Show and anticipated it will ship in the fall.
According to Protocol Cigars, the Protocol Crime Scene Unit goes back to the roots of Protocol. It is intended to deliver the boldest cigar in the portfolio to date. The company had originally released Protocol Blue back in 2015 and it was known for the quadruple ligero in the blend. Since then most of the releases had not approached the Protocol Blue in terms of that level of boldness.
The difference with Protocol Crime Scene Unit is that this will be a full strength-full-bodied Maduro offering. The cigar itself is a Nicaraguan puro and it will be available in one size – a 6 1/2 x 50 Toro.
The Protocol Crime Scene Unit joins Protocol Blue, Protocol Probable Cause, Protocol Themis, Protocol Official Misconduct, and Protocol Cyber Crimes Unit as the offerings in the company’s core portfolio.
