This year, the focus for Joya de Nicaragua has been Connecticut Shade and Connoisseur vitolas.  There wasn’t a new line that was unveiled for Joya de Nicaragua in 2022, but the company decided to focus its releases around its two successful Connecticut Shade releases, Numero Uno and the Antaño CT by adding a Corona and Lonsdale size respectively. In addition, Joya de Nicaragua added its own preferred retailer program, Club de Amigos.

The Joya de Nicaragua Numero Uno L’Attaché is a 5 1/2 x 42 Corona that joins the Numero Uno family. This isn’t exactly a new size as the company quietly released this size as an exclusive to UpDown Cigar in 2019. The L’Attaché becomes the third size in the Numero Uno line. Like the other two sizes in the line, L’Ambassadeur and Le Premier, it is a part of Joya de Nicaragua’s premium Obras Maestras collection and is a limited production offering. With L’Attache, it is being made available for those retailers who are a part of Club de Amigos. L’Attaché features the blend as the other two vitolas and will be presented in 25-count boxes. The L’Attaché has shipped to retailers.

 

The 6 5/8 x 44 Lonsdale is now the fifth size in the Joya de Nicaragua Antaño CT line. It’s the first new size in the line since it made its debut in 2019. Like the Numero Uno L’Attaché, this will also be limited to Club de Amigos retailers. The Antaño CT Lonsdale features the same blend as the other vitolas. This includes an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The new Lonsdale is presented in 20-count boxes and has shipped to retailers.
