As reported earlier this year, Espinosa Premium Cigars is one of a reported 16 companies participating in the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) Exclusive Series of cigars for 2023. Espinosa’s entry is an offshoot of its Murcielago line known as the Murcielago de Oro 2023.

Murcielago is known for its dark San Andres Maduro wrapper. The Murcielago de Oro blend utilizes a San Andres Claro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. The Claro is a lighter shade wrapper compared to the Maduro. Production comes from AJ Fernandez’s San Lotano factory in Ocotal, Nicaragua and it uses a size popularized by Fernandez, a 6 x 54 Oval Toro. A total of 1,500 20-count boxes have been produced.

While it’s the first TAA cigar for the Espinosa brand, Espinosa last year quietly produced a 2022 TAA Exclusive Cigar for Villiger out of its La Zona factory.

The cigar is expected to be showcased at the 2023 TAA Convention which opens March 26 in La Romana in the Dominican Republic. The cigar is shipping immediately after the TAA Convention.
