At the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Don Doroteo Cigars will introduce El Alcalde. It is the second installment of Don Doroteo’s Exclusive Legacy Blends, a series of extra-aged cigars rolled at the La Aurora factory. Initially rolled in 2008, the El Alcalde blend has been aging for 15 years.
El Alcalde honors family Patriarch Doroteo Fermin Delgado. The company gives some background on Doroteo:
Since being rolled in 2008, El Alcade has been resting in the La Aurora factory. The cigar’s ingredients are an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and binder over Dominican and Brazilian filler. El Alcade is a 6 1/4 x 52 Belicoso packaged in boxes of five. The price for an individual cigar is $29.75 or $148.75 for a box.
Don Doroteo Cigars’ founder, Juan Lugo, stated, “My grandfather and his example will always be a guiding light for me. Coming from poverty and with little education, he was able to become a respected tobacco grower and a leader within his community. This cigar is in honor of his accomplishments. El Alcalde is a blend that has gone through extensive aging (15 years), and we are confident that it will be well received.”
The El Alcalde follows El Legado, the first of the aged Exclusive Legacy Blends by Don Doroteo.
The 2024 PCA Trade Show opens in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 23, 2024.
