El Septimo has announced a new limited-edition cigar, Vartan the Dragon. The cigar pays homage to two people with the name Vartan: Armenian General Vartan (Vardan) Mamikonian and Arizona retailer Vartan Seferian. Vartan the Dragon is a collaboration between Seferian and El Septimo. This cigar won’t come cheap—priced at $98.00 per cigar.
In the 5th century, Vartan Mamikonian was a military leader and head of the Mamikonian noble family. He held the hereditary title of Sparapet (the supreme commander) and is venerated as a saint and martyr in the Armenian Church. Vartan Seferian owns Ambassador Fine Cigars in the Phoenix area.
Packaged in eight-count boxes, Vartan the Dragon is available in one size—a 6 1/4 x 58. According to El Septimo, the cigar is blended with 15-year-aged Grade A tobacco and incorporates a Habano wrapper. The total production is 999 boxes.

Vartan the Dragon is expected to be showcased at the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, which opens in Las Vegas on March 24.
