Davidoff Cigars has been releasing a Chinese Zodiac calendar cigar since 2012 and has come full circle with this years Davidoff Year of the Dragon Limited Edition 2024. Each cigar released since 2012 featured the Chinese Zodiac symbol of that year. 2012 and 2024 are the Year of the Dragon. Unique to this year is that the Year of the Dragon will be released in two sizes, a double corona for Davidoff Appointed Merchants and a gran toro for the Davidoff flagship stores. For this review, we will be taking a look at the Year of the Dragon Double Corona. The double corona is a parejo that is 7 1/2″ x 50 and features a shaggy foot.
The cigars come in a 10 count box with a red ribbon running down the middle to symbolize the tongue of a dragon.
In the Davidoff Cigars press release:
In a press release, Edward Simon, CMO at Oettinger Davidoff, stated, “We reflected the importance of the Dragon with our largest zodiac cigar thus far: an impressive double corona with an uncut foot. Furthermore, our very limited gran toro cigar, an intriguing pipe tobacco blend, and state-of-the-art accessories and packaging design make this collection one of the most exciting of the entire cycle. I am immensely proud that our series has proven to be so successful and that we can fill our aficionados’ time beautifully with our products.”
