Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) has informed retailers it has discontinued 11 SKUs across several lines. Among the casualties are the CAO Session, CAO Osa Sol, and Diesel Grind lines. Additionally, select sizes from CAO Cameroon, Hoyo La Amistad Gold, and Hoyo La Amistad Dark Sumatra have been axed.
From the General Cigar side of the house, the CAO Session and CAO Osa Sol lines are being sunsetted. The CAO Session line was introduced in 2019. The three sizes being discontinued are Shop (6 x 60), Bar (6 x 49), and Garage (5 1/4 x 54). It was 2011 when CAO Osa Sol made its debut. The sizes Lot 52 (6 1/2 x 52) and Lot 54 (5 3/4 x 52) have been discontinued.
There are also select sizes from three other General lines being discontinued. These sizes are CAO Cameroon Churchill (6 7/8 x 48); Hoyo La Amistad Gold Rothschild (a former #9 Cigar of the Year on Cigar Coop); and Hoyo La Amistad Dark Sumatra Espresso (4 1/2 x 50) and Robusto (5 7/8 x 54). While select sizes are being discontinued from these lines, STG has stated the CAO Cameroon, Hoyo La Amistad Gold, and Hoyo La Amistad Dark Sumatra will remain.
On the Forged Cigar Company side of the house, the Diesel Grind has been discontinued. Introduced in 2017, Diesel Grind is best known for being brought in as Diesel’s first brick-and-mortar line. The three sizes discontinued under Grind include Torpedo (6 1/2 x 52), Toro (6 x 50), and Robusto (5 7/8 x 54).
This is the second wave of discontinued SKUs by STG in less than a month. Last month STG discontinued several lines under its Bolivar, El Rico Habano, and Helix brands.
