C.L.E. Cigar Company is releasing its Asylum April Fools’ 2025 Year of the Snake, Asylum’s signature 90 x 9 cigar.
This is the fifth consecutive year for the massive 90 x 9 vitola. It was originally released in 2021 as an offshoot of the Asylum Nine line. The project started on social media when C.L.E. put out what is intended to be an April Fool’s joke on social media saying it was releasing a 90 x 9 cigar. This soon led to many retailers requesting the cigar. C.L.E., the parent company of Asylum, decided to green light the project and turn the April’s Fool joke into reality.
In 2023, Asylum gave the 90 x 9 its own packaging and branding, tying it in with the Chinese Zodiac. For 2025, the theme is the Year of the Snake.
The Asylum April Fools’ 2025 Year of the Snake comes packaged in six-count trays where the tray can be used as an ashtray. Pricing comes in at $45.00 SRP per cigar.
“The April Fools’ Joke for 2025 is that we got the cigar out before April Fools Day,” said Christian Eiroa in a conversation with Cigar Coop.
