Cohiba Rubicon

In August 2025, General Cigar will launch Cohiba Rubicon, a new regular production line within the Cohiba brand. Rubicon features a three-vitola selection with each cigar priced below $10.00.

An interesting aspect of Rubicon is its Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, which covers a U.S. Broadleaf binder. The filler consists of Dominican Piloto, Honduran tobaccos from La Entrada and Jamastra, as well as Nicaraguan tobaccos from Estelí. While most of General Cigar’s Cohiba line is produced in the Dominican Republic, Rubicon is manufactured at Honduras American Tobacco S.A. (HATSA) in Danlí, Honduras. Conveniently, Rubicon is offered in 20-count boxes and is available in three distinct sizes: Box Pressed Robusto, Toro, and Gigante. Pricing ranges from $8.49 to $9.49 SRP.

The Cohiba Rubicon represents a thoughtful evolution of the brand’s blending philosophy. Crafted at the esteemed HATSA factory in Danlí, Honduras, the Rubicon embodies a dedicated commitment to complexity, balance, and the careful selection of global ingredients.

“Rubicon gave us the opportunity to offer a cigar without boundaries,” said Sean Williams, Cohiba Brand Ambassador, in a press release.. “The blend was thoughtfully created with intention. The result is a cigar that bridges tradition with a more modern expression of complexity. It rewards a practiced palate while remaining accessible to emerging enthusiasts.”

This is not the first value-priced Cohiba to be produced by General. In 2017, General Cigar introduced the Cohiba Blue, also priced below $10.00.
