To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Hoyo de Monterrey brand, General Cigar has announced a new limited edition cigar called the Hoyo de Monterrey Edicion de Cumpleanos 150.  The cigar will make its debut at retail shops on April 1st.  It marks the first release under the Hoyo de Monterrey brand since 2010’s Hoyo de Monterrey Reposado en Cedros.

According to General, the Hoyo de Monterrey Edicion de Cumpleanos 150 is the first and only cigar feature a proprietary Habano Shade wrapper grown in Esteli, Nicaragua.  The remainder of the blend features an Ecuadorian Binder and Nicaraguan filler.  The cigars have been produced in Honduras.

A production of 4,000 boxes of 15 will be made.  The boxes will feature contemporary styled packaging and banding to give a modern look to the iconic brand.  The cigars will come in one size – a 6 x 54 box-pressed.  Each cigar will have an SRP $7.99 and boxes will have an SRP of $119.85.
