“In terms of flavor, the Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch No. 7 is one of the best cigars to be released in the past year. The previous release, the Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch No. 6, was one of the most decorated cigars on Cigar Coop, and the Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch No. 7 definitely earns its place right beside that.”

Coming in at #2 is the La Flor Dominicana Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch No. 7. At the end of 2019, La Flor Dominicana would release the eighth installment of its limited-edition Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch Series. Dubbed the No. 7 (because there were two separate No. 4 releases), it would follow the mantra where La Flor Dominicana owner Litto Gomez would blend a Dominican puro that used the concept of taking the best tobaccos from company owner Litto Gomez’s La Canela farm from a single crop year. The previous installment of the series, the La Flor Dominicana Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch No. 6, would capture our #3 Cigar of the Year for 2016. Now for an encore, the Small Batch No. 7 goes to the next level, becoming the #2 Cigar of the Year for 2020.

This all Dominican cigar is highlighted by a Dominican-grown Pelo de Oro wrapper. The Small Batch No. 7 is one of the smaller sized releases coming in as a 6 1/4 x 52 parejo. Production is handled at La Flor Dominicana’s Tabacalera La Flor in the Dominican Republic. Like the previous seven installments, the Small Batch No.  7 is a one and done limited release that comes packaged in 105-count crates.

The La Flor Dominicana Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch No. 7 delivers notes of natural tobacco, caramel, bread, fruit, pepper, nut, and baker’s spice. It’s a cigar that is medium-strength and medium-bodied for most of the cigar experience before progressing to medium to full toward the latter stages. This cigar delivers a wonderful assortment of flavor nuances with all of the flavors balancing each other in perfect harmony.

For La Flor Dominicana, the Small Batch No. 7 lands the company on a Cigar Coop Countdown for the third time. As for 2020, it’s the only all-Dominican cigar that has landed on this year’s Countdown.

This represents some of Litto Gomez’s finest work in a portfolio of outstanding work. If some of these are still around, you owe it to yourself to pick up plenty for your humidor.
