Two announcements were recently made from Micallef Cigars. First, the company announced it will be returning to the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show. Second, the company confirmed it succeeded in rolling one million Micallef Cigars in 2021.

2022 will mark the first time since 2019 that Micallef Cigars will be exhibiting at the Trade Show.

As for the million cigar milestone, “It’s never been a question if we could produce a million sticks at our factory. It was only a matter of when we would achieve the milestone. We bought the former Davidoff factory, knowing it was a space to grow into. We significantly accelerated our tobacco purchasing in 2019 with the goal of building 1 million cigars in 2021,” said the president of Micallef Cigars, SA Allen Davis.

While Micallef Cigars is a young cigar company, the company notes its leadership team is made up of seasoned businesspeople. Davis has worked with Al Micallef for over 30 years, overseeing manufacturing operations in the U.S., United Kingdom, and Asia.

Al Micallef shares, “I’ve been starting and scaling businesses since Kennedy was president. I am so proud of our teams in different industries. Last year, our silicone manufacturing company produced 69 million parts. We know how to grow capacity while delivering great quality. Our restaurant serves 250,000 people annually. We exceed customer expectations through superior customer service. Our job is to take those learnings and apply them to our cigar business.”

Micallef keeps its inventory stateside to ensure brick and mortar shops always have access to their products. Scaling the business, Micallef tripled the size of its Texas distribution center since opening in the spring of 2019.

“Our retail partners invest in us when they choose to bring Micallef Cigars into their humidor. It is our responsibility to ensure their customers always have access to their favorite Micallef cigars. We do this by investing in our infrastructure and inventory today so we can be the brick-and-mortar exclusive cigar company of tomorrow,” added National Sales Director Andy Yaffee.

In terms of the past 36 months, Micallef Cigars president Dan Thompson said, “Al Micallef, and I made some promises to the cigar industry in our Open Letter of 2020. We said we would focus on being a great partner to brick-and-mortar retailers. Grow our production and cigar smokers. We take our commitments seriously. We’ve poured ourselves into these plans over the past three years.”
