Cigar Rights of America (CRA) has announced that Tony Gomez, Vice President of La Flor Dominicana, has been appointed to the CRA Board of Directors. Gomez fills the seat vacated by Alan Rubin, who resigned following the sale of his company, Alec Bradley, to Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG).

CRA said the CRA board voted unanimously for Gomez. Gomez follows in the footsteps of his father, Litto Gomez, who previously served on the CRA Board of Directors.

“We are very excited to have Tony join the CRA Board of Directors,” said Robert Levin, president of CRA and owner of Ashton Distributors, in a press release.

Gary Pesh, CRA board chairman and owner of Old Virginia Tobacco Co., added, “As we reflect upon our recent court victory, Tony’s depth of experience at such a young age provides an invaluable new perspective on CRA’s board.”

“I am thrilled to join CRA and contribute to their efforts to protect the premium cigar industry. CRA continues to set the industry standard for professionalism in advocacy, and I cannot wait to get started,” commented Tony Gomez.
