Davidoff has officially added a Petit Panetela offering to its Davidoff Winston Churchill The Late Hour line. While the new Petit Panatela will still feature filler tobacco aged in Scotch whisky barrels, it will also be what Davidoff calls medium (i.e., mixed filler). It will also be sold in five-count tins. The Petit Panatela was originally a limited edition offered outside the U.S.
Blendwise, the Davidoff Winston Churchill The Late Hour Petit Panetela features an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Mexican Sumatra binder. The fillers are a combination of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. Like the regular production long-filler Late Hour, the Petit Panatela ages Viso leaves from the Condega region in Nicaragua. The Petit Panatela is a 4 x 38 vitola.
“I am very pleased that we can offer this special format to our aficionados permanently now,” commented Edward Simon, CMO at Oettinger Davidoff. “We launch the Petit Panetela to give appreciators of the The Late Hour Series blend the opportunity for a shorter enjoyment with the same complexity in taste as the long-fillers Robusto, Toro and Churchill of the same line.”
The Davidoff Winston Churchill Late Hour line was launched in 2017. The limited edition panatela was originally released in 2020. The name The Late Hour comes from Winston Churchill saying he got his best inspirations during the late hours of the night.
The Late Hour Petit Panetela is scheduled to be released on January 18, 2023. Pricing is set at $50.50 per five-pack tin.
