Earlier this year, Fuente y Padrón Legends, the collaboration between Carlito Fuente and Jorge Padrón, shipped. First announced in 2020, it wasn’t until March 2024 that it first hit the shelves. Legends could be considered one of the most highly anticipated and high-profile releases in history. Simultaneously, there have been some challenges. On Episode 312 of the Prime Time Show, Carlito was a guest along with José Blanco and talked about the long-awaited project shipping and dealing with some of those challenges.
Each principal blended a cigar for this project to honor the other principal’s father. In other words, Jorge Padrón created a cigar to honor Carlos Fuente Sr., and Carlito Fuente created a cigar to honor Jose Orlando Padrón.
On Thanksgiving weekend, Cigar Coop reported that two Fuente y Padrón Legends containers had shipped from the Dominican Republic. During transit, one of the containers was dropped and damaged. Carlito discussed the stress of going through that and how they had to re-order the materials used to pack the Legends in the humidor. In addition, Carlito also confirmed providing the story of Legends shipping to Cigar Coop.
Carlito also talked about when the Legends had its first shipment. There was no communication about pricing, that the net profits from the project would go to the principals’ respective charities, and that both companies had set a goal to raise money from the overall effort. Carlito admitted this communication could have been handled much better by doing a press release.
Finally, another interesting point came out in this interview – Carlito’s view of cigar reviews. “If we got a bad review, I never called up and complained about a review in my life. If we got a good review, I never thanked anyone for it either.”

grabbing the bull by the horns as always coop, great job
the release of this thing was a nightmare , plain and simple.
Fuente and Padron should be ashamed of the price point they put on this thing too . They priced the out the very customers who Carlito Sr. and Jose earned all those years ago starting the company from nothing.
Bad for business , bad for the industry
