“When the Casa Magna Domus Magnus II was released, I found it a worthy successor to the original Domus Magnus… and in the case of the “D” shaped Trajan, I really liked it. This is an outstanding line extension to what I consider to be a great line.”

Review: Casa Magna Domus Magnus II Trajan by Quesada Cigars
Brand Appearances on Countdown: 3 (2011, 2014, 2015)

Coming in at #26 is Casa Magna Domus Magnus (D.Magnus) II by Quesada Cigars. The Domus Magnus (D.Magnus) II. This line was introduced at the 2013 Trade Show.  It is a modification to the original Casa Magna Domus Magnus. The original Domus Magnus had a Sun Grown Jalapa wrapper over Nicaraguan tobacco, but that particular wrapper used was limited. The D. Magnus II brought back the same binder and filler but uses a different Jalapa wrapper. Late last year, three unique line extensions were introduced to the line called “The Three Good Emperors” – named after three benevolent Roman Emperors. Each of these line extensions introduced a unique and innovative shape. The Trajan was the first in this series and features a D-shaped roll – namely rounded except for one side which is box pressed.

The Trajan delivers notes of chocolate, earth, baker’s spice, and white pepper. The Domus Magnus and Domus Magnus II almost produces a unique sweetness that I can liken to pez candy, yet there very much is a tobacco flavor to this cigar. The Trajam has medium to full strength and is full bodied from start to finish.

Construction-wise, the unorthodox shape performed excellent with the burn and draw. The unusual “D” shape did not impact the burn or draw. Overall, this is one of the best line extensions to the Domus Magnus II line if not to the Casa Magna brand as a whole.Box_Worthy_Thirty
