Aganorsa Leaf’s Shade Grown Corojo Maduro wrapper is now coming to the Guardian of the Farm line. Today the company announced the Guardian of the Farm Nightwatch. The cigar is expected to be showcased at the 2019 IPCPR Trade Show.
Guardian of the Farm is a brand that originally launched in 2016 as a collaboration between Kyle Gellis of Warped Cigars and Max Fernandez of Aganorsa Leaf. The cigar is produced at the TABSA factory and by Aganorsa Leaf. The Guardian of the Farm Nightwatch is a project that is solely Fernandez’s.
In addition to the Shade Grown Corojo Maduro wrapper from Jalapa, the blend features a Corojo binder from Jalapa and a mix of Corojo and Criollo tobaccos from Jalapa and Estelí. The cigars will be presented in 25-count boxes in four sizes: Rambo (4 1/2 x 48); JJ (5 1/2 x 50); Campeon; (6 x 52 with a 109 cap); and Orpheus (6 x 44). Each of the four vitola names is named after dogs at the Aganorsa Leaf farms.
The Guardian of the Farm Nightwatch JJ is the same size found on the original blend, but is box-pressed. The Nightwatch Orpheus is the same size as the original Guardian of the Farm Apollo, but with a different name. The Rambo and Campeon formats are the same as the Nightwatch and original Guardian of the Farm.
“Guardian of the Farm has an incredibly passionate following,” commented Terence Reilly, VP of Sales & Marketing in a press release. “We knew we would need to create a blend that lives up to the high expectations. We are excited to see how our consumers and retail partners react to this special project.”
Max Fernandez added: “To make a second blend for Guardian of the Farm and our loyal dogs is a blessing. Every dog, whether it is one of ours or your own, is commemorated with this cigar.”
The use of the Shade Grown Corojo Maduro wrapper has been a big story for Aganorsa Leaf this year. It is also being featured on the Aganorsa Leaf Signature Maduro and JFR Lunatic Loco lines. It marks the first time Aganorsa Leaf has worked with a maduro leaf from its own farms.
Aganorsa Leaf has also commissioned artist Dean McKeever best known for doing artwork for Tree House brewing to do some artwork for Guardian of the Farm that will be used for store art at retailers.
The IPCPR Trade Show opens June 29th, 2019, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

[…] I bought my sticks at Burns Tobacconist where I work. If you don’t have a great B&M near you, check for them on Small Batch Cigar…they were out of stock as I wrote this, but could be back in at almost any time. I got information for this background section from Cigar-Coop. […]
