This summer, E.P. Carrillo will unveil a third installment to its Perez-Carrillo Family Series called Pledge. The Perez-Carrillo Familiy Series is the most premium line in the E.P. Carrillo portfolio and it contains two of the company’s most highly acclaimed cigars, the E.P. Carrillo Encore and the E.P. Carrillo La Historia.
Details on the E.P. Carrillo Pledge was first reported by Cigar Aficionado.
The E.P. Carrillo Pledge uses a Connecticut Havana-seed wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and all Nicaraguan filler. Fans of E.P. Carrillo and cigars blended by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. have seen the Connecticut Havana wrapper emerge as a favorite from Ernesto and his factory, Tabacalera La Alianza. The cigars are being released in two box-pressed sizes: a 5 x 50 and a 6 x 52.
The name was chosen from input from consumers who visited the E.P. Carrillo booth at Cigar Aficionado’s 2019 Big Smoke Las Vegas event. E.P. Carrillo says Pledge is meant to be a homage to all cigar smokers.
E.P. Carrillo Pledge will start to hit retailers in August. Distribution will be limited to a few select retailers at first as production was delayed by Tabacalera La Alianza due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More retailers will receive the cigar as production catches up.
