At the 2017 IPCPR Trade Show, La Palina Cigars will add a fifth size to its Illumination line in the form of 6 x 50 Toro.
The La Palina Illumination is the third regular production cigar that El Titan de Bronze is making for La Palina; joining the La Palina Mr. Sam and the La Palina Family Series Miami. El Titan de Bronze also produces the popular limited edition La Palina Goldie line. It is the Goldie line from which the La Palina Illumination draws its inspiration.
Illumination has been described to us as “Goldie-like”. It has a similar blend composition to the Goldie as it incorporates an Ecuadorian wrapper, Ecuadorian binder, and a combination of Nicaraguan and Dominican filler. One big difference, the Illumination does not contain the high priming medio tiempo that the Goldie has. This is because the medio tiempo is in short supply. In place of the medio tiempo, a high priming ligero was used.
According to La Palina, the Illumination Toro was introduced into market last year as La Palina’s 2016 Cigar Bill’s Blend as a part of the 2016 TAA Exclusive Series. The company now says the Toro size will be a regular production offering available internationally.
Like the other three vitolas in the series, the Toro is packaged in 20-count boxes. Pricing is set at $12.00 SRP per cigar.
