General Cigar has begun informing retailers of the Punch Dragon Fire. This is a cigar themed around the Year of the Dragon for the upcoming Chinese New Year. While the previous five installments of the Punch Chinese New Year have revolved around food themes, the Punch Dragon Fire revolves around the fireworks associated with the Chinese New Year celebrations.
The Punch Dragon Fire features a Mexican San Andres wrapper over a binder from the Condega region of Nicaragua. The fillers consist of Nicaraguan (Estelí Region), Dominican (Piloto Cubano), and Honduran (La Estrada). Dragon Fire comes in one size – a plump 5 x 60 format highlighted by a flathead cap. The cigars are packaged in hexagon-shaped fireworks style packaging. Each cigar has a price point of $6.99. The Dragon Fire will ship in February.
STG becomes the latest company with Year of the Dragon releases. Others include Davidoff, Gurkha, Tabacalera(VegaFina), Oliva, Rocky Patel, and Maya Selva doing cigars.
